Tasteful Tuesday 7.30.13

Howdy readers! Geeeeze, my nutrition has been a little crazy for the past couple of weeks. Finally I think I’m back on track, whew! Tuesday means early morning run with the running club, right? Right. So I got up at 4:20am, drank my Spark (AdvoCare) and headed to the park. After the run (around 5:50am), I had a protein shake, chocolate flavored! The isolate whey protein I had was Iso-100 by Dymatize; one of my favorites!

I sat down to breakfast a little later than I wanted to. I ate right at 7am. I have been playing with my protein pancake recipes and I think this one was my favorite yet! So I had protein pancakes with a little sugar free syrup. YUM!


Sometimes I think “I’m going to get creative with my mid-morning snack” but I typically just go for that same old fuji apple, cinnamon, the tablespoon of all natural peanut butter and two whole hard cooked eggs.You know why I continuously go back to this snack? Not just because it’s balanced and meets my nutritional needs, but it’s VERY satisfying. I crave this snack! So, again, that’s what the order was around 10am.

For lunch I enjoyed a delicious stew I had batch cooked this past weekend. In the stew was lean ground meat (venison) and lots of veggies (okra, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, cauliflower and more). I usually keep a bag of broccoli at the office, so I added a little broccoli to my stew, as well as one half of a wedge of Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese and 1/4 of an avocado. As usual, I was looking for a ‘crunch’ to go with my lunch, so I had about 10 reduced fat wheat thin crackers (should have skipped these). Thank goodness Sweet Free July is almost over!I was craving a cookie, but opted for a single serving of sugar free lime jello.

Only 2 hours later, I was feeling snacky. So I grabbed a snack. I had about 10 toasted coconut almonds by Blue Diamond.  An hour after the almonds, I was still a little hungry. I nibbled on some celery, the other half of that cheese wedge from lunch and a little more peanut butter. These snacks were not holding me for long. I hate it when I just can’t seem to satisfy my tummy for long. Around 5:30 pm I walked into smoothie king. I ordered a small Lean Body For Her in vanilla and added orange and coconut to it. OH.MY.GOODNESS. That was one DELCIOUS smoothie! Satisfying too!

Finally I made it home around 8pm. Left over chicken, veggies and quinoa (cooked like a casserole) was on the menu.


I felt like I ate a lot but overall I’m pretty satisfied with my choices, especially considering that I have been OFF on my nutrition for the past couple of weeks. I hope you had a healthy Tuesday! ❤
